Xiaomi at IFA: When the Car Becomes Part of the Home

Tekpoint Team2 min read

At IFA 2026, Xiaomi presented a view of the car as part of a wider connected ecosystem. The new-generation Xiaomi SU7 and the high-performance SU7 Ultra were on display, alongside Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, a concept created for the Gran Turismo franchise rather than a production-car announcement. Xiaomi’s IFA announcement outlines the automotive showcase.

Connecting the journey with the home

The SU7 Max-centred “AI Today” area demonstrated how context such as location, time and weather could be used to adjust lighting and air conditioning before arrival, with the user in control. The proposition is more meaningful than adding another dashboard screen: the car becomes part of the same daily routine as the phone and the home.

Xiaomi also says it signed memoranda of understanding with eight German automotive dealer groups at IFA. The company describes this as an early step toward a retail and service network ahead of its planned European entry, including Germany, in 2027. These agreements are network-building steps; they are not evidence that the cars are already on sale in Europe.

What turns a showcase into an experience

For smart-tech distribution, the work after the showcase matters: local service, clear compatibility and a dependable customer experience. The car may attract attention, but making the whole experience work is what earns trust.
